Are you thinking about the WACUBO conference and Anaheim yet!? If not, it might be time to start. In addition to our host hotel and amenities, many attractions make Anaheim a fun and historic destination for all visitors.
For our trivia lovers in the crowd, did you know that Anaheim was founded by 50 German families who collectively left San Francisco? Originally started as a grape-cultivating community, Anaheim is now a bustling city, the 10th most populous city in California.
Ideas for your visit:
Baseball: Not so small and still surprisingly mighty, Anaheim is home to the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball. The Angels are playing the Minnesota Twins & Philadelphia Phillies the week of the conference (April 26 to May 1). Saturday night's game is Mandalorian Rally Monkey night! Doesn’t that sound like a great pre-conference outing idea?
Comedy: We've got a couple of stand-up comedy connoisseurs on our team here at WACUBO, so a trip to enjoy a comedy show at The Brea Improv is not out of the question, especially when D.L. Hughley is highlighting on April 26-27.
Music: Don’t forget about the House of Blues Anaheim, they have a variety of shows to suit your music tastes.
Outdoor Shopping & restaurants: Conference centers can often leave you craving a walk in some fresh air, and let's face it, at some point, you're going to want to taste some local food. Anaheim GardenWalk is an outdoor shopping center with local and national restaurants that appeal to many different appetites.
Nature Lovers: Maybe fresh air isn't enough. Nature lovers will appreciate the lush greenery of The Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton.
Museum: Conferences can be highly sensory experiences. At The Bowers Museum, you can find some quiet and take in exhibits celebrating California's diverse cultural history while also enjoy seeing art from around the world.
Local Restaurants: Seeking suggestions for local eateries? Check out the map. showing recommendations from the WACUBO team.
Let’s not forget the Disney Experience:
Downtown Disney: A short walk from the hotel you will find shops and restaurants and of course a Disney store (don’t forget the gifts for family)
Disneyland and California Adventures: Can you really go to a Disneyland hotel and not spend some time inside the park?
We know that the pace of conferences can be overwhelming, so we encourage you to set aside some time for self-care.
