Service Project (sponsored by TIAA)

Every year, WACUBO participates in a Service Project in connection with the Annual Conference. This year, we ask that you help us support the Kanu o ka ‘Āina New Century Public Charter School. Kanu o ka ‘Āina is a Hawaiian-focused, bi-lingual public charter school serving students in grades K-12 that teaches through an indigenous model, grounded in Hawaiian values and kuleana to the community. The school is located in Waimea on Hawai‘i Island.

How you can help:

  • Amazon Wish List (See conference webpage or app for shipping details).
  • Bring a college t-shirt/sweatshirt, pennant or other swag to the Service Project Booth onsite.

Location

The majority of conference activities for attendees will be held at:

Hilton Waikoloa Village
69-425 Waikōloa Beach Dr,
Waikoloa Village, HI 96738

Exceptions include the golf tournament on Sunday (transportation provided to/from conference hotel) and private functions not coordinated by WACUBO.  If you are invited to a private function, kindly make sure you have those details as WACUBO does not keep a list of these events.

Transportation

It is recommended that you make your transportation arrangements ahead of time.  No offsite lodging transportation is provided.

Parking

  • Daily Valet Parking: $37
  • Daily Self-Parking: $30
  • Hourly Self-Parking: $8/per entry

Attire

Given that we’ll be in Hawaii and it will be warmer than usual, we encourage conference attendees, including speakers, to dress for the location. That means aloha shirts or other short-sleeved collared shirts and blouses, comfortable non-wool slacks/chinos or skirts/dresses, and comfortable business-casual shoes for walking. Meeting rooms may be cooler with air conditioning, so a sweater or light jacket may be needed. Absolutely no ties!

Internet Access

The hotel provides WiFi as part of your reservation.  We also have a designated network in the conference area, sponsored by OneStream.

  • WiFi Network ID: WACUBO2025
  • Password: OneStream

Weather

In early May, Hawaii typically experiences warm and sunny weather, transitioning from spring into summer. Average daily temperatures hover around 82°F (28°C) with nighttime lows around 72°F (22°C). May is considered part of the "shoulder season," offering pleasant temperatures and less rain compared to the peak summer months.

Sponsors

We are grateful for our amazing sponsors and could not create the robust conference experience without their financial support. In exchange, they request the chance to reach out to attendees via email to encourage onsite connections. Thank YOU for your understanding with these solicitations and to these organizations for their sponsorship.
